Time Series Analysis of Walking Stability

چکیده
In the case of patients having lower back pain, it is known that by using shoe insole therapy, stability of walking is increased and lower back pain is lessened. In this study, Synchronized System of Accelerometers was used. The time series data of accelerator in the two directions (X, Y) on each pelvis and knees were measured while the subjects were walking. Analyses on the response of step signals add to the system shows that in the case of the subjects wearing shoe insole, walking stability is increased more than without insoles. And the relative power contribution shows dynamic time-spatial relationship of both the knee and pelvis.

Estimation of the Effect of Cadence on Gait Stability in Young and Elderly People using Approximate Entropy Technique
Walking stability of human beings varies with age and reduces in the elderly people. Lesser walking stability causes many falls in the elderly people. In this paper, we have investigated the walking stability of young and elderly subjects using approximate entropy, a non-linear time series analysis method. Our emphasis in this paper is to investigate the walking stability using a portable instr...
متن کاملStable Gait Planning and Robustness Analysis of a Biped Robot with One Degree of Underactuation
In this paper, stability analysis of walking gaits and robustness analysis are developed for a five-link and four-actuator biped robot. Stability conditions are derived by studying unactuated dynamics and using the Poincaré map associated with periodic walking gaits. A stable gait is designed by an optimization process satisfying physical constraints and stability conditions. Also, considering...
متن کاملDetecting Huntington Patient Using Chaotic Features of Gait Time Series
Huntington's disease (HD) is a congenital, progressive, neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive, motor, and psychological disorders. Clinical diagnosis of HD relies on the manifestation of movement abnormalities. In this study, we introduce a mathematical method for HD detection using step spacing. We used 16 walking signals as control and 20 walking signals as HD. We took a s...
متن کاملSlower speeds in patients with diabetic neuropathy lead to improved local dynamic stability of continuous overground walking.
Patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy are significantly more likely to fall while walking than subjects with intact sensation. While it has been suggested that these patients walk slower to improve locomotor stability, slower speeds are also associated with increased locomotor variability, and increased variability has traditionally been equated with loss of stability. If the latter were...
متن کاملDynamics, Stability Analysis and Control of a Mammal-Like Octopod Robot Driven by Different Central Pattern Generators
In this paper, we studied numerically both kinematic and dynamic models of a biologically inspired mammal-like octopod robot walking with a tetrapod gait. Three different nonlinear oscillators were used to drive the robot’s legs working as central pattern generators. In addition, also a new, relatively simple and efficient model was proposed and investigated. The introduced model of the gait ge...
